Apocalyptic plausibility

This is what the sky looked like at 9 AM this morning in the SF Bay Area. We’ve also had ash falling, but luckily this smoke is from a very long way away, so there were no live sparks.

It’s been like this all day. Luckily, we are protected by the marine layer (a layer of cool moist air that blows in off the ocean and Bay), and because the light from the sun was so dim, it did not burn off today. This left us with much cleaner air to breathe, than otherwise.
